The City of Alhama Taves of the Department of Environment reported that in his line of work to combat climate change, the City of Alhama has reduced emissions of 20.5 tons of CO2 in 2009 through the implementation in two phases of a Control System Bicycle Loan.
The project, called "BiciAlhama" and developed by the City Council in the framework of initiatives aimed at sustainable mobility is a free bike loan, comprised of 9 base lending spread through the town and a municipality total capacity of 90 bikes available.
By implementing this system, the City has provided an alternative transportation, healthy and environmentally friendly to citizens and visitors of the municipality and thus promoted the use of bicycles as an efficient means of transport.
Thus, the movement to be made using the system does not release emissions into the atmosphere by promoting the fight against climate change.
Thus, the use of the bicycle rental system "BiciAlhama" will prevent annual emissions of 20.5 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, recognized by the certificates issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water.
