Program of alternatives to expulsion launched by the City Council in the institutes (01/12/2009)

Teachers, school principals and even the Councillor for Education, José Miguel Muñoz, met this morning at the Lewis Valley Institute to take stock of the program of alternative measures to the expulsion, which was launched in the early going.

The project, pioneered in the region, seeks to bring students who, until now, were expelled from the center during a season because of his misconduct.

The program has been implemented directly by the City through the Cultural Habitat company and has a budget of 12,000 euros.

The council of the area, accompanied by the directors of the two institutes of the town, Roberto García, del Valle de Leiva and Adolfo de Benito, the Miguel Hernández, as well as Santi Gutierrez, Cultural Habitat, highlighted the satisfaction of the experimental program .

The mayor emphasized the purpose of the program with the rehabilitation and resocialization of students problematic opening, between the social fringe, new prospects.

Currently the program is serving about 15 students between the two centers, but for this initiative, would be expelled.
