The delegate of the Government and the Mayor of Alhama inaugurate the tennis courts built under the Local Investment Fund (05/11/2009)

The Government of Spain funds 92 projects for sports facilities of 27 municipalities in the region, amounting to 35.6 million euros

The Local Investment Fund at the regional level has already funded 671 projects and has invested 167,016,741

So far created 13,193 jobs, 51 percent more than originally planned.

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and the mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Juan Romero Canovas, inaugurated this afternoon the construction of four tennis courts and rehabilitation of existing fifth in the sports "The Praico."

The works have been funded from the Local Investment Fund with an investment of 395,322 euros and the creation of 10 jobs.

In addition to construction, have also made additional steps such as retaining walls, ramps, paved walks and lighting installation.

González Tovar has excelled in the event that 27 municipalities of the Region have submitted projects for the improvement of sports facilities in their municipalities, and to this end have 35,680,080 euros to be used this year.

This is a total of 92 actions or works which will generate 1,277 direct jobs.

Also pointed out that the town of Alhama being done with this fund eight projects for which it has a budget of 3,362,067 euros.

These are the following actions:

- A pedestrian walkway in the park of La Cubana (265,898.81 euros).

- Expansion and reform of the municipal morgue (750,000).

- Children's Traffic Park (347,698.82).

- Annex Building Children's Traffic Park (200,000).

- Collector of rain in the east (601,704.74)

- Irrigation Networks municipal gardens (308,002.78)

- Paving of various streets (430,842.26)

- Rehabilitation of public school in El Berro (57,998.84)

The Government delegate also showed satisfaction with the jobs created by such construction, since in total we have generated 151 jobs, of which 74 are newly created and 77 for persons within enterprises.

"It said Gonzalez-Tovar, a 70 percent higher than initial forecasts."

Similarly, the government delegate said that "the objectives are being met for invigorating the economy, job creation and improvement of local infrastructure, particularly in the construction sector, being the hardest hit by the crisis."

So far we have funded 70 percent of the total of 671 projects, which has led to 167,016,741 euros.

With respect to the payment of 30 per cent end, will be made once the work finished and worth the investment to the Ministry of Land Policy.

In this sense, González Tovar reported that already are 48 projects in the municipalities of Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, Beniel, Calasparra, Lorquí, Totana, Mula, La Union, Santomera and Ceuta have been completed and received by the Ministry of Territorial Policy of the total transfer amount.

In terms of employment created, it has been 13,193 jobs, of which 4,483 are newly created and 8,710 people involved on the companies that have done the work.

The Government delegate pointed out that the jobs created so far represent 51 percent over initial estimates.

At this time, much of the work is nearing completion which has a deadline of December 31, although an extension will be accepted up to three months provided it is for reasons attributable to the development of the work.
