The writer alhameño Andreo Lorenzo received a tribute with three other Eagles Prize novel (10/02/2009)

The author alhameño Lorenzo Andrea received on Saturday February 7, a heartfelt tribute in the nearby city of Eagles with three other writers who, like him, were the prominent literary award, which was named after the coastal city, in the late 60's and early 70's.

In particular, the ceremony was also attended by the famous alhameño, winner of the first edition, Ana Maria Ruiz Garcia, the daughter of the late Cecilia García de Guilarte, winner of the second edition; Julen Lezamiz, historian and author of "Cecilia G.

Guilarte, reporter of the CNT, "the novelist and winner of the third edition, Ramón Hernández and journalist Juan Pla, who won the fifth and final edition of the Eagle Award.

The event, organized by the newspaper "The News" and the Ateneo Aquilegia of Arts and Letters and the scholar José Asensio, was backed by a large group of people coming from different places.

Not missing the ceremony the mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Juan Romero Canovas he wanted, with his presence, clothe the alhameño, winning only one of the major national awards from the letters.

Also present were the mayors of the Elderly, Soledad Tudela, Police, Fulgencio Cross Finance and Jose Lopez.

The writer was also accompanied by relatives and local friends who traveled to the Don Juan hotel which hosted the event.

The event began with a screening of press clippings and images of the time which emphasized the importance of the award that is delivered in Madrid.

Then were given a commemorative plaque to each of the writers present in chronological order to achieve the award.

The first to win the Eagle Award, in 1968 for his work Andreo Lorenzo Valley of Caracas, he received the plaque from the Eagles director of Bancaja, José Bravo.

Andreo recalled the award and expressed his great appreciation to the people of Eagles by the initiative.
