The local mayor, Juan Romero, and the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz have signed an agreement included in the Sports Facilities Plan, for the construction of sports courts in the districts of the town.
The signing was also attended by Director General of Sports, Antonio Peñalver.
Sports Infrastructure Plan in small towns is intended that "once the large population centers have the necessary infrastructure to address these small areas and promoting the concept that since the Ministry has considered extremely important is the micro- , affect small areas, improving the small and get the whole.
Pedro Alberto Cruz, said that this program is twofold, "on one side rehabilitate and upgrade existing sports facilities and other, building new infrastructure where there are none."
The total investment sum amounts to 550,000 euros of which will benefit 22 districts of several towns in the region, Alhama de Murcia, has received an amount of 50,000 euros for the construction of sports courts in their districts.
