The council tracks processionary Alhama (12/02/2016)

With the bad weather we are experiencing this winter, quite higher than normal temperatures and an almost total absence of rain, pine processionary has advanced its life cycle.

Some pines and isolated specimens of the municipality have been affected by this proliferation of the pest and we know that in some of the mountain areas regional administration has already begun to act.

Inside the village, which is the area of municipal jurisdiction and one of the most sensitive by the proximity of human population, the City Council has been doing continuous monitoring of pine and pine forests integrated into public spaces, gardens both as schools or sports facilities, among other places.

Through Gardening Brigade and companies specializing in these services we have contracted, regular treatments are carried out in those areas.

In fact, on 2 and 3 November last preventive treatments were carried out in several of the gardens and all schools.

As usual, before and after these treatments are carefully watching the trees and removing the bags as soon as detected.

This practice has not been interrupted at any time for several years and now is one of the priority tasks of the municipal officers.

From the Department of Parks and Gardens and Environment encourages any resident who detected an outbreak to notify the City Council to act promptly.
