Meeting of the Advisory Council on Social Welfare (11/02/2016)

This week another meeting of the Municipal Advisory Council of Social Welfare and Family (http://www.alhamademurcia.es/noticia.asp?cat=5796) has taken place.

The ceremony was presided over by the mayor of Alhama, Diego Conesa, and has attended the Councillor for Social Services, Felipe García, Senior Councillor, Nani Navarro, the Councillor Isabel Campos and technical staff of the Department of social services and the different social associations that make up the Council.

The purpose of the meeting was to report on the changes that will take place in the provision of social services, where aid will be linked to information and training lines as they advanced on 22 January to the Minister of Family and Equal meeting they held in Murcia city (http://www.alhamademurcia.es/noticia.asp?cat=5941).

They are going to launch two regulations: one that regulates family support and social inclusion and another concerning families with children.

The right of access to these benefits is determined by the income level of the family unit, provided it is below 45% of the minimum wage.

The economic benefit for family support and social integration aims to ensure the provision of basic needs of citizens.

To do this, from Social Services will provide the necessary instruments to promote the personal autonomy of families in our town.

In this regard, it is to make available the same access to itineraries and socio-family counseling and social integration through workshops, as well as support for participation in training activities with the ultimate aim of facilitating seeking and obtaining employment.

As for the economic benefits to support families with children, the City has been an increase in demand in recent years, requiring an update of the arrangements for municipal aid.

Childhood and adolescence are critical stages in the development of children, both personally and in their integration into society.

This new regulation aims to support families with children in socially disadvantaged or in need who can not afford their own.

For it seeks to promote and support the educational process, schooling and cover food and other basic needs of children.

The meeting served to expose the need for greater interaction between the Department of Social Services and the various associations, seeking mutual cooperation.

An example of this is the launch of a workshop on volunteering and social cooperation, in which associations may explain to users the work being done.
