Agreement between the City of Alhama and FREMM to strengthen the local economy (29/01/2016)

• The municipalities of Campos del Rio, Sewer and Fuente Alamo will sign similar proposals to the Regional Federation of Employers of the Metal of Murcia

The mayor of Alhama, Diego Conesa, and the president of the Regional Federation of Employers of the Metal of Murcia (FREMM), Juan Antonio Muñoz, have signed an agreement to streamline administrative procedures for opening businesses, cooperate in the fight against the economy underground and encourage unemployed access to specialized training in the metal.

The FREMM will sign similar agreements with the municipalities of Campos del Rio, Sewer and Fuente Alamo in the coming weeks.

The mayor said that "the city of Alhama commitment to a productive economy based on the pillars of training, qualification and culture of effort".

He also stressed the metal as "a good chance sector, in which the FREMM is a reference to the regional level."

Conesa has indicated that "the commissioning by the City is also collaboration in entrepreneurship, help all those who want to make a specific training", citing transportation grants.

Actions to be taken

The federation takes processed 200 complaints under this action.

Qualified training will also be strengthened between both sides to promote employment in the metal sector, especially among unemployed.

The FREMM committed, meanwhile, to enroll in the Employment Agency welcomed all students to their training program.

Also, the City became, via agreement, facilitator of information on the activity of the metal.

The agreement signed is included in the covenants FREMM is closing in different municipalities to improve the development of the activity of the metal, which would result in the optimization of local economies and therefore regional.

The metal sector in the region represents 10% of its Gross Domestic Product.

It hosts more than 8,000 companies, including SMEs, freelancers and various activities of the metal, and employs about 27,500 workers, about 7% of the regional workforce.
