On 2 September, the Mayor, the Councillor for Education and the Councillor for Sports held a meeting with the AMPAS of public schools in Alhama.
The purpose of the meeting was to meet the commitment of schools and colleges open in the evenings and weekends.
The Councillor for Education, Mariola Guevara, presented a proposal for extracurricular activities designed for each site in order that valued and conduct appraisals and changes they deemed appropriate to suit the needs of each school.
The proposed activities are: school sports (including motor skills for younger), karate, chess, skating, dancing, reading entertainment, educational support, English, computer, guitar and painting, among others.
The purpose of this range of activities is that children have at their disposal an offer covering all tastes, which is motivating and cover gaps they may have in different areas.
From the Department thus it aims to contribute to equal opportunities.
All families will have access to this service.
On September 9 the local executive again summon the AMPAS to distribute all workshops and extracurricular activities in the six public schools.
The Department of Education will be responsible for assuming the cost of this project, funded with 160,000 euros of annual savings on the cost of the government team.
Alhama City evident, in this way, its commitment to public education and equal opportunities.
Councillor of Education has proposed to establish a nominal fee AMPAS 8 euros, which will go entirely to them, that manage, increase or create, depending on each center, banks books.
With these revenues they get, progressively larger amounts of books, which will be a relief for families.
Another part of these revenues will go towards the development of projects and investments in their centers.
To fulfill this great commitment you are designing a cooperation agreement between the municipality and the AMPAS, to be unveiled shortly.
