This morning took place at the Archaeological Museum of Murcia a meeting with the different departments of local Citizen Participation.

The purpose is coordination and cooperation between public authorities to promote participation with these objectives:

• Pooling the regulatory landscape as well as the various policies carried out in terms of citizen participation, in order to have an overview of the current situation in the Region of Murcia.

• Share best practices and concrete experiences of citizen participation.

• Provide methodologies, tools and dynamics to promote citizen participation

• Generate input and proposals on criteria and actions for the future in terms of citizen participation in the area of ​​Murcia.

The event was attended by the chairman of Transparency Murcia, Jose Molina, who was accompanied by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Segura, and the mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Diego Conesa.

In his speech, Conesa highlighted the work that has been done in terms of transparency, amid these two months, from the city of Alhama.

"We believe transparency is not as a matter of image but investment for the municipality to improve the political functioning of the Government, the dynamics of officials and even private part revolves around the government. But it is also an essential tool to attract investment. Always attraction is looking through tax credits, but we bet especially administrative rigor and transparency. "

It has also indicated that the municipal government in Alhama aims to implement within a year the 80 indicators of Transparency International.

"We just three months of activity and have already implemented some 15 indicators. Very simple aspects, such as the full publication of the agreements of the Local Government, the minutes of plenary sessions and have a space for each of the political groups municipal, among others. "
