Sunday evening May 31 the meeting took place the final jury XV Literary Short Story Contest "Alfonso Martinez-Mena" jury had to determine the winners from among 22 stories selected from a total of 1,810 submitted to the contest .
The final jury was formed by José García Tempering, Professor of Literature at Madrid and Pablo Salvador Blesa Aledo, Vice President for International Relations and Communication UCAM Murcia and Carmen Maria Rodriguez Canovas, Councillor for Culture and Heritage of the City Alhama de Murcia who served as secretary of the jury and Alfonso Fernando Cerón Morales, mayor of Alhama de Murcia and President of the Jury.
The jury unanimously agreed to award the first prize of 3,000 euros, the work entitled The skull of Adolf Pölzl presented under the motto genit Llano.
He opened the escrow No. 316, proved to be its author, Antonio Carballo Calderon, a native of Havana, in Cuba.
Likewise, also unanimously he agreed to grant the second prize of 1,500 euros, the work entitled Five beds for the dead, presented under the motto Plinio Ostos.
He opened the escrow No. 601, proved to be its author, Gladys Rosa Ruiz de Azua Aracama, a native of Caracas and offices in Tenerife, Canary Islands.
The jury wanted to record the highest number of arrivals to the Contest from all parts of Spain, Europe, America and Asia work, and its literary quality.
Of the 1,810 reports received in the call 2014/2015, it was made a first selection in which 22 were selected accounts of the final jury returned to select 5 from among those who have been the winners.
The awards ceremony will take place this Friday, June 5, at 21.00 in the hall of the local Town Hall.
