Social Welfare intervened in 2013 in all kinds of aid to local families most in need (04/04/2014)

The City Council of Alhama de Murcia, through the Department of Social Welfare, invests throughout the year a significant amount of money in aid budget.

This was pointed M ª Carmen Diaz, area councilor, at a press conference to account for part of the negotiations in 2013 for Social Welfare.

Also in 2013, clarified the mayor, 25,000 euros from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (ERDF) were received.

This year 2014 is the help of more than 30,000 euros.

Also in Social Welfare, has been managed in 2013 the output of over 2,000 records;

1,544 food aid, aid for payments 106 bills, 111 for the payment of water bills, 184 packages of diapers, 8 aid for municipal waste receipts, 56 aid for the payment of rent, 30 for drugs and 52 for other issues such as support for dentures, glasses ... etc..

Moreover, the mayor reported that the Department of Social Welfare also provides municipal services for elderly care fully funded by the City.

In this section, there are 162 people benefiting from telecare, 51 families who are providing the service of home help service and 210 meals to people who can not fend for themselves.

"Not only did they bring food, they look like they have the fridge, the house asked how they are is a global service," noted the mayor.

Moreover, families also receive aid for the school canteen.

Grants to 18 school children and children from primary schools, specifically in 2013 were granted scholarships to 23 children are granted.

Moreover, the Department of Social Welfare, along with Education, part of Bank of Books project has made, for two years, no child in the city has run out of books.

However, Social Welfare has had to invest in education with aid for the purchase of books and school supplies in the amount of 11,000 euros.
