The City Commission Truancy held its quarterly last week to discuss the problems of the lack of students in classrooms meeting.
Created in July 2013, this commission involves the implementation of an action considered best suited to serve as a channel for participation of all stakeholders in the prevention, control, intervention and monitoring of absenteeism and dropout in the town Alhama de Murcia.
Since its inception, its members (members of the local schools in primary and secondary, a representative of the Education Inspectorate, one from the Ministry of Education and the departments of Social Welfare, Education and Police, through its own employees and councilors ) meet quarterly.
According to the mayor of Social Welfare, Maria Carmen Diaz, with these meetings, "is to create a space for analysis of the problem of absenteeism, investigate risk factors."
It adds, this platform is also "a resource in decision making and organ systems to adjudicate family support."
