The city of Alhama de Murcia has just completed drafting the Municipal Emergency Plan and can be viewed on the municipal website and is intended to carry the regular meeting of June plenary session.
Angela Sanchez, Councillor for Civil Protection and local police by the mayor of Planning, Angel Canovas, have realized this morning at a press conference the details of the plan.
As pointed Canovas, the new plan replaces the 1994 that was completely outdated, not only by the spatial change of the municipality, but also by amending several laws over the years.
The development of the new plan was launched at the start of the new term.
To this end, a working group was formed consisting of municipal engineers (engineer, architect and surveyor).
Originally previous work, this working group has been holding regular meetings various bodies involved to prepare the draft presented.
The plan has a common and various handouts in which affects warning possible incidents to which it might receive the local population with special emphasis on those more likely, such as forest fires, floods or earthquakes.
Frost, snow in the districts high, accidents in the various highways that surround the town with dangerous goods are some more of the dangers they might receive the local population.
The document, as noted Canovas, has been developed with a simple structure that seeks quick and agile coordination in case of incidents.
This draft, once you have gone through the House, shall be submitted to the General Directorate for Civil Protection which must ratify it with the Regional Plan for final approval.
Participated in its preparation the departments of Public Safety and Police, Town Planning and Public Works and Services.
The Municipal Emergency Plan would be triggered in the event that the incident occurred did not exceed the maximum set, at which point it would launch the Regional Emergency Plan and Local happen to be subject to the orders of the regional, as was in the earthquakes in Lorca.
This plan covers the issues like places you would move the population that are more favorable areas of seismic disasters, floods ... or that buildings are not suited to the current legislation to withstand earthquakes.
For his part, the mayor of Public Safety, said that to make this working draft is held a number of meetings to monitor the work and progress in the drafting of the plan.
How it was a first draft was established a technical committee working to bring those responsible for those sectors and authorities involved, could contribute to this draft your impressions and improvements.
In the technical committee councilors were present Angela Sanchez Eagle (Police), Angel Herrera Canovas (Urban) and Miguel Gonzalez Cabrera (Works and Services) as well as the municipal, Juan Martínez Pérez (Industrial Engineer), Ana Belen Red (Technical Architect) and Sonia Bedetti (Architect).
Moreover, the mayor pointed out, also included representatives of various agencies involved in the plan, who thanked his generous collaboration.
These were: Red Cross, through its president, Francisco Belchí and several components of the local assembly, the Fire Station, with its director Placido, the 061, through Gregory and Mary Mar, responsible in Alhama, the Forest Rangers, with its head at the helm, Evaristo Civil Protection, with its president, Ana Garcia, the lieutenant of the Civil Guard, Rafael, the local police sergeant, Jose Clares and the Councillor for Health, Ana Fernandez.
The meetings reviewed the plan and have taken the contributions of the different bodies, following the earthquake in Lorca, which actively participated had a great experience, as noted by Angela Sanchez.
This new plan is in the hands of members of the opposition and has moved to Citizen Participation Council to collect contributions that can be made.
Once approved, the plan will provide information campaigns to the public on tips to consider any incident in the town, what action to take, where to go and what to do to any incident.
Finally, both responsible for Local Government Team have agreed that the most desirable point is that this plan never comes to get going.
