Maria Dolores Andreo: Near Absence is the title of the exhibition of the artist alhameņa important to occupy the museum and The Granary until June 30 (29/04/2013)

Until June 30th you can visit the retrospective exhibition of Maria Dolores Andreo located the two main rooms of the town: The Archaeological Museum of the Baths and El Granary.

The city of Alhama de Murcia, through the Department of Culture and Heritage, has organized a retrospective of the artist's work alhameņa collecting all periods pictorial.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition, commissioned by the journalist Pedro Soler, took place on Friday 26 in the hall of the Archaeological Museum and chaired by the Mayor of Alhama, Fernando Alfonso Ceron Morales, by Andrew Andreo, nephew of the artist who died in 2005 and the Councillor for Culture and Heritage Carmen Maria Rodriguez.

The Mayor of Alhama de Murcia stressed the importance of the artist as a person talking about the important values ​​that Andreo maintained throughout his career.

Also, wanted to thank the great support of the family of the painter who owns the work that has provided the City Council and the curator Pedro Soler and of History of Art, Maria Carmen Sanchez Rojas, who has collaborated in the catalog published for the occasion.

The mayor stressed the importance of the work of Maria Dolores Andreo in the world of art and paintings described the different phases of his work.

Also, on behalf of the curator who could not be present at the event, spoke of the distribution of the work.

Meanwhile, Andy Andreo said that in the nearly 60 works on display you can see the entire artistic career of the work, even works of the late 50s, when M ÂĒ Dolores was a disciple of Luis Garay, expressing in his paintings the influence of this important artist Murcia.

Among the many attending the opening were artists like Arthur (son of the late Aurelio alhameņo well) or Pearl Strong.

The Museum

In the Archaeological Museum of the Baths, in its showroom, are exposed portraits and nudes of the painter and of the documentary that Alhama Films production released on Maria Dolores in which the artist discusses his work and of itself.

In this space are hung some of the most prominent and well-known paintings of the painter.

The Granary

In the building you can see The Granary other thematic division of the work of Maria Dolores Andreo: Christs, landscapes, still lifes and, Pedro Soler has called in the catalog Other Experiences.

In this part, located on the left side of the room are some of the lesser-known paintings of the artist and more different from each other without a theme.

Not lacking in this room some of the drawings that the artist made before paintings and a display case which presents various catalogs of the artist and her poems "Not a word more."
