The People's Party of Alhama de Murcia want to make a regular assessment of the January plenary, emphasizing especially the unanimous approval of the proposal of the Department of Tourism requesting a declaration of national tourist interest for the feast of the Mayos, because we think that is a traditional feast of great singularity, only in our region, full of cultural values ​​and reflect the history and manners of the town, which was declared in 1990 regional attractions.
We therefore believe that Alhama has many chances to get this recognition, that would mean for our town a tourist resort of national projection, leading to an increased number of visitors and a beneficial impact on the local economy, in addition to other advantages such as the presence at fairs shows and national tourism offices in Spain and abroad, as well as giving priority in awarding grants and the incorporation of this new title Turespaña plans and timing of interest in Spain.
Since our party want to congratulate all who have been involved in preparing the application documents, especially technical and City Council press office, for the great effort in such a short time, and the song and dance group Virgen del Rosario by developing a representation of May that will be attached to the file.
