On Friday June 1, 2012, the largest daily attending the day center of Alhama de Murcia, and their families commemorated the fourth anniversary of its opening with various activities.
The program of events included activities such as conducting an exhibition with all crafts made throughout the year, a photographic projection, the performance of the musical group "Major Sonata" and living with relatives.
The mayor of Alhama, Alfonso Fernando Ceron Morales, accompanied by the councilman of Social Welfare and Seniors, M ª Carmen Díaz, shared with the greater the activity, occasion, municipal representatives took the opportunity to reiterate the Council's commitment in achieving the objectives which this service is intended, as in the continuous improvement of the quality of care of this.
This center was built and launched by the city of Alhama in 2008, with an initial offer of 25 seats which now has been extended to the 30 seats.
Beginning in 2011, thanks to the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Instituto Murciano Social Action, the center has become part of the network of centers and services for Autonomy and Care for Dependency in the Region of Murcia.
The aim of this service is to improve the living conditions of older persons in situations of dependency, enhancing their autonomy and providing adequate conditions of living in their own home environment and socio-community, delaying or even preventing this mode, your admission to residential facilities.
The Day Centre provides various services including daily, from 9.00 to 17.00 hours, among which are:
- Care basic care activities of daily living.
- Food Service
- Shuttle service available.
- Prevention, counseling and guidance for the promotion of autonomy.
- Social care and rehabilitation.
- Welfare and personal development.
- Psychological care.
- Occupational Therapy.
- Functional rehabilitation.
Maintenance programs, mental capacity and memory, and establishment of environmental conditions conducive to the improvement of temporo-spatial orientation, aimed at older people with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias.
