Psychosocial Care Service presents its second exhibition on Friday in the House of Culture (11/10/2011)

Alhama is one of the few municipalities with a municipal service Psychosocial Care.

It was launched three years ago and the results obtained so far have been very satisfactory, as noted this morning at a press conference M ª Carmen Díaz, Councillor for Social Welfare.

The mayor was accompanied by Maria Isabel Garcia Jodar, psychologist and responsible for coordinating the service which currently serves about thirty people both within the center Francisco Munuera which serves as at home.

The head of the area announced that next Friday 14 at 20.00 in the House of Culture will open the exhibition Zangamanga II, second edition shows some of the work produced by users of that service.

Diaz stressed the importance of this service for patients who are to normalize their lives and their families.

Precisely for this reason, the psychosocial care services the municipality provides users not only of social and psychological care they need, but also provides various workshops such as power, computer, outings to the swimming pool, etc..

It's all part of the therapy received by users, says the mayor.

Maria Isabel Garcia also highlighted as part of Zangamanga exposure therapy, especially after seeing the good results obtained for patients in its first edition.

Therefore, Zangamanga II will not only be a new sample of the psychosocial service, but it is an important action that aims to narrow the distances between patients and society.

"It's part of the daily struggle in which we pretend that the motivation arises where none existed before and the project life possible," said the specialist just referring to the name of the sample that attempts to summarize the day to day work of patients and specialists.
