The Councilor of Commerce, Nani Navarro, has reported on the state of the remodeling works of the Plaza de Abastos, which have been developed in recent months at the request of traders to work in optimal conditions.
Navarro explained that "once the deck was finished, there were several pending items to perform: gates, old tiles that were around all the posts, plates that block the light boxes, etc. All this could not be budgeted or executed in the previous project ".
The rains of the beginning of the year revealed flaws in the part without remodeling, reason why from the City council the cost of these works was budgeted with the intention to undertake them this last summer.
Some tasks that were finally deferred by the arrival of a new grant.
"It seems fairer to us that if we can receive money from outside, we can allocate the resources of this City Hall to other types of projects or needs of the municipality," said Nani Navarro.
"From the council we are waiting for an answer that will arrive in November or December.
If the answer is negative we will also undertake all that remains of the market square. "
These works would include: arrangement of the roof, gates, tiles, and later, benches, planters and fountains.
The amount of this investment is:
· Conditioning of toilets in the market square 12,862.30 €.
· Supply and installation of led lights in square of supplies 2.986.70 €.
· Project work installation of cover in square of supplies 12,802.85 €.
· Work of installation of cover in place of supplies 172,031.27 €.
New waste room
The neighbors of the area have been demanding a solution due to the problem that exists when throwing all the waste that is generated from the shops of the Plaza de Abastos.
The Department of Commerce has decided to carry out the construction of a room for waste to give solution to this need in the outside of the enclosure, because there is no empty room inside for this space.
The room will be finished in the coming weeks and will be of only use for the merchants of the square, reason why will entail to create a regulation of internal operation for its correct utilization.
The fee is the work is 6.943,32 €.
