Last 26th of May an assembly and subsequent vote was held ratifying a new direction / coordination of the Municipal Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Alhama de Murcia.
On March 31, the group's chief coordinator, Daniel Romera Mellado, reported on the activities and services carried out throughout 2016. The assembly then agreed on the need to add more volunteers to the management team Current, and even open the possibility that some volunteer could be presented as an alternative to lead Civil Protection.
On April 21, the assembly met again and accepted a proposal to place Luis Reina Marchán at the helm of the group's leadership.
On May 26, Luis Reina presented in assembly his project of work and planning, as well as the configuration of his team.
At the meeting, volunteers were told about the need to update the internal functioning regulations, expedite the protocol of entry as a volunteer, prepare an emergency plan within the group, and study and update the position held by Civil Protection within the Municipal Emergency Plan.
It also highlighted the need to carry out an inventory of logistic material, dissemination campaigns to encourage volunteer work, periodic meetings of the work team, as well as updating the logistics to improve the provision of services and bet on the training of volunteers.
In the new coordination team is also Eulalia Gloria Díaz Rosa.
In addition there are eight working groups, involving a total of 13 volunteers in charge of transmissions, vehicles, clothing, sanitary, material, services, training and communication.
The Councilor for Civil Protection, Felipe García, thanked the work of the previous group and expressed the importance of teamwork to unite all volunteers.
Also emphasized the great value of the selfless work and good work provided by this group.
As an important challenge during the coming months is the coordination with Local Police and the rest of the organization of the Tour of Spain, which will arrive in Alhama as a stage finish on 29 August.
For this, from the council will be requested volunteers from other municipalities in the Region of Murcia.
