The curtain opens.
Cine Velasco opens today after five months of renovations in which this building, built in 1978, has been adapted to current needs.
In particular the following improvements have been made:
Execution of two dressing rooms, living area and storeroom in basement, as well as ladder of communication and adaptation of circulation spaces.
Adaptation of the building to fire regulations and accessibility, including the adaptation of exits, expansion of corridors and renovation of armchairs and curtains with fireproof materials.
Renovation of pavements and painting.
Incorporate an adapted toilet inside existing toilets and renovation of sanitary appliances.
Reform of the scenario including fixed extension, improvement of accessibility and reform of electrical installation.
Installation of technical wiring for audio and lighting control, with hidden conduits.
Installation of new stage curtain with motorized closing.
Pre-installation for "7.1 surround sound" for cinema.
Equipment for dressing rooms and other back spaces.
All this through an agreement in which the City has financed 89,500 euros and the owners of this space another 88,151 euros.
In addition, the City Council has made an investment in own equipment for the stage and the dressing rooms, which includes the following elements:
Scenario: Curtain of mouth, black chamber and lateral access ramp.
Full furniture of dressing rooms.
General: wiring and connectors for sound and lighting, which will save on the next contract with the company responsible for light and sound.
A new lease has also been made with the film owners, from being an annual to being in force for the next 8 years.
The leased space of 577 mt2 expands by another 150 mt2 with the dressing room and storage area, and the annual amount is reduced from 30,640 euros (2,552 € month) in the contract of 2013 with progressive increases by IPC to 30,000 euros (2,500 € Month) in 2016 without annual CPI increase.
The premiere takes place this Friday with the concert of the band owner of the Musical Group Alhama de Murcia, within the cycle in honor of its patron, Santa Cecilia.
