"Vidreosueño, fighting for a dream," a campaign to decorate the children's ward of hostipal Virgen de la Arrixaca of Murcia (22/06/2016)

Recycled glass and collaborates with the solidarity campaign to decorate the new children's ward at the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca.

Ecovidrio installed 2 containers with the image of the campaign in the most emblematic of the city thanks to the cooperation of the City of Alhama de Murcia.

From 22 June to 11 July, will be located igloos solidarity with the image of the campaign in Constitution Square, next to the main facade of City Hall and Avenida Sierra Espuña, 14, next to the Health Center.

Residents can place their glass work in these containers.

In total we have installed two containers with the image of the campaign, as a symbol of awareness and solidarity with the children of the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca.

Friday July 1st afternoon, 18 to 21 pm, and Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 from 11 to 14 h 18 to 21 h, in the igloos will ecoinformadores to talk about the campaign and about the importance of recycling glass.

In these same days will be available a solidarity bracelet at these points the symbolic price of 3 euros.

The City of Alhama de Murcia collaborates with the campaign "Vidriosueño, fighting for a dream," Ecovidrio, to assist in the project AFACMUR and decorate the children's ward of the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca of Murcia.

In addition, the initiative will seek support in the online environment through the hashtag # Vidriosueño and the sale of solidarity bracelet.

"Struggling for a Dream" is a project born from the need to acclimate the hospital environment, which still is more important in pediatrics.

Taking advantage of the creation of the new building for the Children's Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca, they saw the need to deepen those aspects that the child and adolescent miss during their disease process.

Promotional videos of the campaign continue to seek partners throughout the Region of Murcia, with more than 97,000 visits;

children ask their dreams come true, in the words of some of them: Hugo, 9, "I dream of a hospital of light and passion," Iker, 3 years, "I dream of a hospital of fish and mermaids," Manuel, 17, "I dream of hallways filled with rainbow" Mariano, 12 years, "Dream rooms with drawings," Paula, 5 years, "I dream of a hospital walls pink" plus videos made by players of the UCAM Murcia CB and FS ELPOZO Mucia.

Thanks to the involvement and participation of citizens and public administrations, with this initiative, the simple act of recycling glass containers, not only will result in environmental benefits but add support to make a little happier stay sick children and their relatives in the hospital.

Data recycled glass in Alhama de Murcia

This campaign will also serve to keep raising kilograms of glass packaging waste deposited in containers of Alhama de Murcia.

According to the latest data available, local citizens recycled a total of 379,690 kilograms of glass containers, which means that each neighbor recycled an average of 17.8 kilograms of this material.

Compared to regional average 16 kg or 15.6 kg nationwide.

Regarding the rate of containerization, Alhama de Murcia, stands with an average of 145 inhabitants per container, and at present a total of 147 igloos for waste glass containers installed in the town.

about Ecovidrio

Ecovidrio is the non-profit entity, responsible for managing the recycling of glass packaging waste in Spain, since 1998. The company is fully responsible for managing the recycling chain, through selective collection, transport, treatment glass packaging and trading.

During 2015, national Ecovidrio invested 8.6 million euros in 350 awareness campaigns to promote recycling by children, young people, responsible for household chores and society.

Thus, glass recycling was present at festivals, mass events, festivals, etc.
