Emergency services in the municipality of Alhama de Murcia will be integrated into the digital emergency communications network Community (Radiecarm), which will improve the protection of citizens.

This was announced today the CEO of Public Safety and Emergency, Manuel Duran, after meeting with the local mayor, Diego Conesa.

"The use of this network, which already connects health, fire and environmental agents, among other services, will enable the Local Police and Civil Protection Service of Alhama de Murcia have more reliable, secure and capable communications contain, besides voice, other data such as the position of the units, "said Manuel Duran.

Also, the director announced that the Community will invest 80,000 euros in installing a Tetra communications station in Murcia, "that will improve the coverage of emergency services."

This is a digital radio system that can combine several modes of networks, systems and services.

It is a technology that uses an infrastructure to connect multiple radios points and bases, forming larger networks.

In addition, the director and the mayor agreed to commence the process of signing an agreement between the Ministry of the Presidency and the City of Alhama de Murcia to allow the municipality to have a remote terminal 1-1-2 Emergency Center Murcia, of so that local emergency services (police and civil protection) have real time data on how many emergencies happen in the city.

"This will allow the most rapid, coordinated and effective as possible resolution," said Manuel Duran.

Improvements in the firehouse

The CEO also visited the local fire Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Region (CEIS) in Alhama de Murcia, where expansion and modernization works are made worth 338,000 euros.

This is the first of the actions envisaged in the Plan for Modernization of CEIS 2016-2019, which addresses the regional government and that includes the construction of a new fire station in Lorca and improvements in eight parks.
