For its part, Manolo Eagle, he pointed out that the mosquito is not a species native to our country, but comes from Southeast Asia, introduced on the peninsula through a freight.

In Murcia specifically, data are of their presence since 2011, and Alhama since 2014. Noting that through the company hires for Pest control, has been keeping track of the population of this insect through a system trapping, with a total of 14 traps placed in the town and at strategic points of the municipality.

This monitoring as well as how it is distributed and population growth occurs, data is obtained to plan the actions performed by the council to control the mosquito population, larval and treatments using sprays in town, villages, gardens , squares and flooding in the river Guadalentín.

Manolo Eagle, said that the presence of the tiger mosquito in the city is a reality, and that the actions to be performed not only depend on the municipality, but also require the participation and cooperation of citizens.

Eagle pointed out that the tiger mosquito has a special predilection to places with standing water to breed, and a special attraction to CO2 emissions, emissions that living things, especially mammals issued with our simple breathing and perspiration, making human kind that draws its sting.

Manolo Eagle also noted that to deal with the proliferation of the tiger mosquito population can follow a simple recommendation, which is "to avoid standing water."

To do avoid containers that can collect water, such as buckets, cans, plant saucers, etc., and if this is not possible is recommended to remove accumulated water, or emptying every 2 or 3 days.

Also to be used with a mosquito net covers for water tanks, maintain adequate levels of chlorine in swimming pools, ponds or fountains, as well as introducing ornamental pond fish eat the larvae.

Similarly it has been suggested that tiger mosquitoes usually fly only a few meters from where they were born, so if you itch at home is likely to have a kennel nearby.

Eagle has also recommended to make a small trap for tiger mosquitoes, which can install in our own home;

you just need to cut in half a plastic bottle 2 lts., mix within 200 ml.

warm water without chlorine with 50 gr.

sugar, and add 1 gram of fresh yeast, once this step, enter half of the cut bottle with the neck down like a funnel, and wrap the container with a dark cloth.

This mixture needs to be changed once a week, emit CO2 so appreciated by mosquitoes, who will attend the trap.
