Alhama joins Dyslexia Day this Thursday, October 8 (08/10/2020)

On October 8, dyslexia day is celebrated, with the aim of making visible this invisible disorder that affects 10% of the world's population.Dyslexia is a specific neurodevelopmental disorder that causes difficulties that affect people's reading, spelling and writing learning process.

It can also be accompanied by other difficulties in the area of ??processing speed, short-term memory, organization, sequencing, spoken language or motor skills, as well as difficulties in visual and / or auditory perception.

Dyslexia can appear despite normal intellectual capacity and receiving adequate educational instruction.

It is constitutional in origin, is part of the individual and is independent of a socio-economic environment and language. Early detection and action at an early age is essential to avoid school failure, but especially the personal of citizens who are affected by this neurological disorder.The City Council of Alhama de Murcia, in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Dyslexia, joins this world day of dyslexia, an invisible disorder that directly affects school dropout and failure.The Federation has made available to professionals, families and students with dyslexia, tools and documentation to be able to face this pandemic in the best possible way, through the national support line on dyslexia (INFODIS) at the telephone number and Whatsapp 691 018 018.
