The Alhama City Council has signed a new agreement with the Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Transparency, Participation and Public Administration for the provision of the forest fire prevention and extinction service in accordance with the provisions of the INFOMUR plan and the operational of this for the period 2020-2021.At present, the Autonomous Community has an Emergency Civil Protection Plan for Forest Fires (INFOMUR Plan), which has the fundamental objective of establishing the hierarchical and functional organization, as well as the procedures for acting on the resources and services in order to to protect people, property and the environment from the risk of forest fires. The City Council has in its municipal term a private volunteering entity, duly registered in the General Register of Volunteer Entities of the Region of Murcia, in the area of ??civil protection and / or protection of the environment and defense of the natural environment .
Alhama has at its disposal a series of volunteers who can reinforce the professional public fire surveillance and prevention infrastructure, in the mobile surveillance and detention posts in accordance with the INFORMUR Plan operation for the period from April 1, 2020 to March 31 of 2021 and support professionals in logistic extinction tasks, when required to do so, under the orders and instruction of the acting Administration. The City Council undertakes to comply with the specifications of the INFOMUR Plan, among which is to complete the daily land mobile surveillance actions through civil protection volunteers, to make the data of the coordinator of mobile surveillance, as well as a list issued by the councilor responsible for civil protection of the personnel carrying out mobile surveillance and of support volunteers who reinforce it, and of the vehicles to be used in the assigned forest surveillance.The Ministry of Transparency, Participation and Public Administration will contribute the amount of 5,500 euros to cover the reimbursement of the expenses that are caused to the civil protection volunteers for the performance of the land mobile surveillance actions planned for the INFOMUR Plan, such as maintenance, fuel, repairs, where appropriate, of the vehicle and replacement of uniformity elements.
For its part, the City Council will make available to the volunteers a radio equipment, binoculars, a vehicle to carry out the corresponding route and mapping of the municipality.Among the most recent actions of the volunteers of Civil Protection of Alhama is the rapid intervention in the district of Gebas where they made forest surveillance and alerted of a small fire in Casas de Abajo.
On the other hand, they also carry out mobile surveillance work in Sierra Espuña, the shady area of ??the Trasvase, the shady area of ??La Muela and the upper districts of Gebas and El Berro.
These are the so-called 'black spots', places and corners where the usual guards at the sentry boxes are not visible.The Department of Security and Citizen Protection congratulates the good work of the Civil Protection volunteers.
