The Alhama City Council is going to carry out tests to detect the Covid-19 virus in the municipal wastewater, through a PCR test (Polymerase Chain Reaction), at the entrance of the treatment plants of the entire municipality . The sampling will be weekly, varying the period depending on the results obtained and the information from the Ministry of Health.The treatment plants involved in this study are the following:WWTP Alhama.WWTP El Berro.WWTP El Cañarico.WWTP Gebas.WWTP Alhama County.This study could lead to the creation of an early warning system where signs of Covid-19, viruses present in wastewater, would be detected in population groups, being able to act quickly on the area for the isolation of cases.
