| The municipal contribution is 51,500 euros for this year 2020 | The Mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Mariola Guevara, and the President of the Red Cross in Alhama, Jesús Salvador Gilabert, have signed a new collaboration agreement between the two institutions, which has been maintained year by year, and which allows collaboration, among others, in relief and emergency actions in the municipality, as well as in the different activities that are promoted by the City Council. Since 2002, this relationship has been maintained in order to have the relief base that the Red Cross has in the town.
The amount of the agreement, 51,500 euros, will be used to defray the organization's ordinary operating expenses, but also many others related to actions of social intervention, training, volunteering, participation, organization and management.The acts related to the agreement are all those that were already contemplated since the end of 2019 to be carried out throughout 2020.
The exceptional situation generated by the Covid-19 pandemic has meant a change in all event programming, which may conclude even in the final suspension of many of them.
In that case, Red Cross management efforts will continue to focus on addressing the multiple needs created by the health crisis.During 2019 the Alhama Red Cross collaborated in 81 events through preventive services.
Among them, 38 were sports events, 32 related to local festivals, 6 in concerts and other similar shows and 5 in cultural and social events.
