The Plenary regulates the use of scooters so they can share the road with other vehicles and people (27/02/2020)

Alhama's PSOE maintains the line that began in 2015 in the Government, then with a minority government, and now with a large majority.

And it is that all those opposition motions that look after the general interest have the backing of the Municipal Socialist Group.

After eight months of the new legislature, those arguments of some groups in which they predicted a "roll" by the new government team are no longer being maintained, mostly in their absolute majority.

On the contrary, the eleven councilors of the PSOE face each plenary session as if they were in a minority and, fulfilling the word given by the mayor Mariola Guevara in their investiture, they have the hand extended to the other groups to work for the interests of all our Neighbors

That said, the February plenary session maintained that general tone, in which all the points under discussion were approved, including two motions submitted by Citizens, one of them on the viability to request that Sierra Espuña be declared 'Biosphere Reserve 'and another for the regulation of the use of pyrotechnics.

The session had two relevant urban planning proposals, approved by a majority and without the vote against any party, the first on the disaffection of the plot known as the "quesito", in front of the Guadalentín sports complex, to be used for commercial land, residential and a green area of 14,000 m2.

And the second, the approval of the progress of the modification n ° 11 of the General Plan of Alhama, on the occasion of the expansion works of ElPozo Food, in front of its factory, facilitating that this company can continue growing and generating new positions of I work in Alhama in the coming years.

Among the highlights, the proposal of the Councilor for Infrastructure and Public Services on the bidding procedure for the collection, transport, treatment and disposal of urban waste and municipal waste services was carried out with the support of 20 of the 21 councilors of the Corporation road cleaning in the municipality.

The first step so that Alhama can have very soon the benefits it deserves, with more cleaning hours, more modern and efficient machinery and new containers.

A set of improvements that will mean a before and after in this service as we know it.

Another of the motions, joint in this case, initially approved the modification of the Municipal Traffic Ordinance to accommodate scooters, means of transport that are increasingly booming in our neighborhoods and cities, which are given legal certainty, especially thinking about security and coexistence, a point that fulfills the electoral commitment to regulate its use so that they can share public roads with other vehicles and people.

The discordant note, of course, came from the hand of the far right, wielding its repertoire of fiercer counterreality to not support the motion of Equality on International Women's Day.

Minutes before, all the municipal groups, including Vox, had accompanied the association D'Genes in reading a manifesto for World Rare Disease Day;

nevertheless, the radical formation did not have to recognize later in the Plenary session another of the unsolved problems of today's society, such as inequality between men and women.

His spokesman did not hesitate to criticize feminism on the grounds that he "criminalizes men", once again ignoring the meaning of a term that describes the principle of equal rights of women and men.

To which we must add, among others, the denial of wage inequality or that women have lower salaries in the same positions as men or who have more difficulty accessing senior management positions.

In addition, bringing up and comparing our reality with that of other cultures, all wrapped in a racist dye that we could describe as anachronistic, if it were not so repulsive and dangerous.
