Through a meeting held today by the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Leticia Pareja, with the Labor Foundation of Construction, we have learned that the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Community has not yet addressed this entity to sign the collaboration agreement so that the students of the IES Miguel Hernández de Alhama can carry out the compulsory practices of the new training cycle 'Higher Technician in Water Management'.
On October 29, 2018, the then counselor Adela Martínez-Cachá, visited the facilities of the Labor Foundation in Alhama where she announced with hype and saucer that this regulated vocational training was going to be launched, being a pioneering project in the Region.
For this, the FLC undertook some works with the requirements imposed by the general direction of FP, of the Ministry of Education, to adapt an area of 800 m2, which has meant an investment of more than 100,000 euros, financed with own funds of The Foundation, with which its headquarters in Alhama industrial park were equipped with an elevator, library, new classrooms, staff room, offices and toilets.
The agreement between the FLC and the IES Miguel Hernández de Alhama for this course established 2,000 hours (two teaching courses) and prepare future professionals who will collaborate in the construction and maintenance of sewage treatment plants, water treatment plants, desalination plants, irrigation pipes , maritime work, etc.
This training has a theoretical part, which is already being taught at the institute, and the practices must be carried out at the headquarters of the Foundation in Alhama.
However, today, surprisingly, the Ministry has not signed the necessary document with this entity so that students can do their practices there.
So from the PSOE of Alhama we consider this fact very serious and we wonder what will happen to the thirty students who attend this training once they finish the theoretical part.
From tomorrow we will do everything in our power to solve this situation as soon as possible.
Once again the regional Government of the Popular Party and Citizens, supported by the extreme right of Vox, demonstrates its abandonment of public education and the chaos in which it is submerged, with all public services collapsed and breaching each of the commitments that goes announcing
