The CEO of Cefusa, Juan Cánovas, has been honored with the prize "A lifetime" in the third edition of the national SEPOR de Oro awards, after 51 years dedicated to improving the livestock sector.
Juan Cánovas, during his long career, has promoted the milestones that have led to the modernization of this sector in Spain until reaching his current leadership position.
Cefusa has led incorporating great technological advances, the optimization of production systems, and the care of farms guaranteeing animal welfare, the circular economy and the sustainability of livestock and rural areas.
These awards are the first at the national level that agglutinate all livestock sectors (pig, beef, goat, sheep and poultry), the industry around them and the agri-food sector, recognizing excellence in all these areas, and has established itself as a showcase in which tribute is paid to the meat world.
Juan Cánovas has been awarded with other people and institutions such as the Animal Nutrition Research Group of the Experimental Station of Zaidín (Granada) of the CSIC or the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine by the UCM Quintiliano Pérez Bonilla, among others.
The winners have been determined by a jury formed by representatives of institutions, associations and personalities of the sector, who have valued the work of the winners for the benefit of its development.
