The mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Mariola Guevara, and the president of the Red Cross in Alhama, Jesús Salvador Gilaber, have signed today a new collaboration agreement between both institutions that allows to attend, among others, health emergency services in the municipality, as well as collaborate in the different activities promoted by this town hall.
This relationship has been established since 2002 to have the relief base that the Red Cross has in the town.
The agreement has been signed annually and represents a municipal contribution this year of 51,500 euros, which mainly covers the organization's ordinary operating expenses, but also many others related to actions of social intervention, training, volunteering, participation, organization and management.
In this way, the Red Cross will be able to collaborate during the carrying out of emergency and preventive activities to cover public, recreational, cultural, festive and sports events.
Stresses the coverage of events of all kinds and, in general, any situation of massive presence of citizens and / or extraordinary risk and catastrophe.
During 2018 the ambulance provided a total of 402 interventions, in which 397 people were treated.
