On Wednesday, June 26, the Police Coordination Table against Gender Violence met.

Councilman Safety and Citizen Protection, Felipe García, chaired the meeting to monitor the local coordination on safety for women victims of gender violence in the municipalities of Alhama and Librilla.

The head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation, Civil Guard of the Alhama de Murcia Point, Local Police of Alhama and Librilla, Judicial Police of Totana, Assistance Center for Women Victims of Violence of Gender, Center of Social Services of Alhama and of Librilla and the Councilor of Equality, Nani Navarro.

Among the functions of this table is to analyze situations and local data on gender violence and encourage coordination between Civil Guard, Local Police, CAVI (center of attention to victims of gender violence) along with other local and regional resources.

The objective is to optimize protection actions and improve care for women in Alhama and Librilla who face violence from their partners or ex-partners.

At the table was informed about the procedure of collaboration and coordination between the 5th Zone of the Civil Guard of Murcia and the Local Police Corps of Alhama de Murcia for the protection of women victims of gender violence and records were monitored , as well as an analysis of the risk level of particular cases:

Librilla currently serves nine women, four of them in low level and five in level 'unappreciated' (the lowest).

In Alhama, the cases are 12 women in middle level, 26 in low level and three 'not appreciated'.

The meeting took place next to the Center for Attention to Gender Violence in Alhama de Murcia (CAVI) which is composed of three professionals (psychologist, social worker and legal counsel) who provide specialized advice available to the public from Monday to Friday.

The signing of the agreement to join the VioGen System in November of last year is enabling greater cooperation and coordination between Local Police and Civil Guard, strengthening the management, care and protection of victims of gender violence.
