End of school year 2018-19 (12/06/2019)

Last May 21 the school program on Road Education finalized, carried out by the Local Police of Alhama de Murcia in the facilities of the Francisco García Redal Road Education Center.

As has been done for years, these days are aimed at the educational community of school age, specifically students and students belonging to courses ranging from children (4 years) to 6th grade, as well as the 1st year, 2nd and 3rd of ESO, leading in this way a continuous training developed since years ago.

The training began in the month of September 2018.

The figures of students and students who have received training are 2,203 Infant and Primary students and 567 students.

This year also we have visited the students of 5th grade of the school Sacred Heart of Librilla.

The inspiring philosophy that drives this project is "learning, acquiring and improving road behaviors" that minimize the road safety risks of schoolchildren in their incorporation into the circulation and in the use of roads with the clear objective of reducing high road accident rates.

In order to prevent this accident, the Local Police publishes different rules of behavior, depending on the age of the students.

It begins by training younger students, as pedestrians.

(4 and 5 years).

The students of the courses comprised between 1 ° -of primary and 6 °, in addition to a theoretical training, practice in the circuit enabled for this purpose in the Road Education Center, using as vehicles bicycles and karts, simulating a real driving by the roads of the municipality.

In relation to secondary school students, the training consists of remembering and reinforcing the knowledge acquired in previous phases, expanding the consolidated subjects and introducing basic notions about negligent and reckless driving, about the danger involved in the manual use of mobile telephony devices during driving, as well as the influence of alcohol and / or drugs in it

To put these subjects into practice, the students of 3rd ESO, drive bicycles using glasses that simulate the effects of alcohol and drugs in the body.

As in previous editions, it is worth highlighting the collaboration, in the presentation of papers, of a young man who suffered a traffic accident resulting in serious permanent sequels.

To thank with these lines the collaboration of this person who, altruistically, made known his experience through his testimony to the students of 3rd of ESO.
