The Local Government Board has approved the signing of a collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Collective for Social Promotion El Candil.
The purpose of this agreement is to establish a stable and periodic coordination channel for the development of the actions carried out by the entity in the municipality.
The City Council of Alhama de Murcia, through the Department of Social Services, has been developing various actions to improve the employability of groups in situations or at risk of social exclusion.
In addition, through various initiatives, support is given to the development of activities by associations and social groups, with the firm purpose of supporting the defense of social rights, as well as promoting the improvement of the living conditions of people who they are in a situation or at risk of exclusion, promoting the performance of actions aimed at improving the employability of people with more personal, social, family and educational difficulties.
For its part, the Collective for Social Promotion 'El Candil' is a non-profit association founded in 1994 with the aim of facilitating the development of the person in all its facets within the community in which he lives.
Currently, it provides service to more than 1,300 people annually, most of them residents of the municipalities of the Bajo Guadalentín region.
In addition, the Collective 'El Candil' is developing the project 'LABOR: a step towards employability', funded by the Murciano Institute of Social Action by 20% and by the European Social Fund by 80%, and the Project Labor 2.0 : Youth Guarantee, financed by the European Social Fund within the framework of the Youth Employment Operative Program and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, both in coordination with the Municipal Social Services Center of Alhama de Murcia, since November 2016; with the aim of improving the employability of people and young people in situation or risk of social exclusion residents in Alhama de Murcia.
It is a priority of this City Council to cooperate in actions to improve employability aimed at groups in situations of social exclusion, and having the possibility of establishing a collaboration agreement with an entity with a long history in this regard, such as the El Candil Collective, Under the belief that the methodology of networking is appropriate to develop comprehensive and lasting actions over time, we proceed to the signing of the aforementioned collaboration agreement.
