This year, three of the volunteers have carried out specific training for better service provision

This surveillance and collaboration campaign will be carried out during the central summer months on weekends from 3:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

During the months of July, August and September, volunteers from the civil protection service of Alhama will provide reinforcement to forest fire prevention agents.

This is an action framed within the Infomur 2018 Plan, with the aim of protecting one more summer for people, goods and the environment.

The volunteers will carry out mobile surveillance work in the Sierra Espu馻, the shade of La Muela and the high districts of Gebas and El Berro.

These are the so-called "black spots", places and corners where they have no visibility of the usual guards of the sentry boxes.

95% of the forest fires that occur in summer and are usually due to carelessness or negligence, recklessness, irresponsibility or pyromaniac behavior, so it is recommended:

路 Do not throw cigarettes, matches or lighters on the floor.

路 Do not throw garbage out of the containers enabled.

路 Do not throw glass bottles.

路 Do not light fires in the forest, ravines or ravines in times of risk.

路 If you are going to carry out a burn, ask for the timely authorization and extreme caution during its execution.

路 In times of risk, do not use agricultural or forestry machinery or tools that can generate sparks.

路 It complies with the restrictions on access to forest areas in times of risk.

路 If you use fire in agricultural activities try to be very careful.

路 If you miss a fire, immediately call 112.

Prohibited to use barbecues

Civil Protection remembers that it is not allowed to carry out fires in the existing barbecues in Sierra Espu馻 in the different places and recreational areas distributed by the natural park.

There is a prohibition, as every summer, to cook in the bush, both with barbecues and using stoves and portable stoves.

Civil Protection appreciates the collaboration of all users and visitors to the Sierra de Espu馻 throughout the year and, particularly, during the summer months "in order to avoid unpleasant accidents on the natural environment, more in a summer of extreme drought like this "
