Alhameña Laura Paz receives the 2nd prize of the National Heritage Painting Contest from the hands of the Infanta Elena (20/06/2018)

The Infanta Elena has presented on Monday the awards of the XXVII Contest of Child and Youth Painting of National Heritage, among which is the Laura Paz alhameña, a student of the Ginés Díaz School - San Cristóbal

Mrs. Elena has presided at the Palacio de El Pardo awards ceremony of the contest, aimed at students of fifth and sixth year of Primary Education and first and second year of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), in which 337 students have participated centers throughout Spain, 172 of them public, including 16 special education.

The contestants had to present works inspired by the monuments, historical gardens or fountains that have National Heritage in the Royal Sites distributed between the provinces of Madrid, Segovia, Burgos, Valladolid, Cáceres, Palma de Mallorca, Seville, Barcelona, ​​Cantabria, Toledo, Granada and Guipúzcoa, as well as other places historically linked to the Spanish Crown.

A jury of which the architect and draftsman José María Pérez (Peridis), the painter Hernán Cortés Moreno, the illustrator Alfonso Ruano and the plastic arts teacher Clara Megías have chosen José Antonio de Padilla as the winner in the Primary Education category. Pérez, who is in sixth grade at the Tabladilla School of Promotion, in Seville, for his work 'Colorful' ('Colorful').

In the section of Secondary Education, the winner was Beltrán Arana Espinosa de los Monteros, who studies second ESO at the Retamar School in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid), with his 'Patio de los Evangelistas', and the second prize has fallen in Andrea Liu Zheng, of the same course and student of the San José School of Ciudad Real, for her interpretation of the gardens of the Palace of Aranjuez.

Pablo Gómez Villarín, student of the second ESO of the Suárez Somonte School in the Madrid town of Cenicientos, has been awarded for his part with the third prize for an artistic recreation of the cathedral of Salamanca.

In the Primary category, the second prize went to Laura Paz García, a sixth grader at the Ginés Díaz-San Cristóbal school in Alhama de Murcia, for her 'Generalife', while the third one distinguished the vision of the Monastery of El Escorial that Claudia Gómez Ruiz, student of the Colegio Corazonistas Nuestra Señora del Carmen in Madrid, has entitled "Playing with color".

Students, plastic teachers and representatives of the participating colleges and institutes attended this ceremony, held in the Courtyard of Bourbons of the palace, after which the young violinist Sara Valencia, who is studying in the violin chair of the Superior School of Music Queen Sofia.

Next, Mrs. Elena has visited the exhibition installed on the occasion of the contest in the Patio de los Austrias, where the awarded works are exhibited and a selection of the rest of 2,500 works submitted to the contest, a sample that will be transferred to the gallery of the Royal Palace to be exhibited there for a month.
