The Councilor for Education, Mariola Guevara, and the Councilor for Sports, Antonio José Caja, today presented the opening of the sports courts of the schools Ricardo Codorníu and Antonio Machado.
Guevara explained that "from the beginning the goal of the Government was to open all schools in the evenings, for this we developed an extensive program of leisure activities and free time, as well as keeping the tracks open on Saturday afternoon."
The facilities will be open all week from Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
The Councilor for Education has indicated that the choice of these two schools is because they have better access from the street.
"With this measure, the municipal government intends to offer safe public spaces so that children can enjoy sports and optimize public spaces for the use and enjoyment of all."
Mariola Guevara has also asked for responsible use of the facilities to keep them in the best conditions and has encouraged all young people who wish to take this opportunity and play sports in them.
For his part, Antonio José Caja recalled that the initiative was chosen within the pilot test of participatory budgets with 420 votes.
"Although it was already partially developed, it has been reinforced."
These two public tracks, together with those already existing in the neighborhood of the Philippines and in the Palm Grove, will be complemented by the future sports facilities of the new IES Valle de Leiva in the surroundings of El Praíco, which will be open in the evenings for the use and enjoy all the neighbors of Alhama.
