Alhameño Pablo López receives the Extraordinary Baccalaureate Award (26/03/2018)

On Thursday, March 22, the special awards of ESO and Bachillerato took place, corresponding to the 2016-2017 academic year, held at the Puertas de Castilla Cultural Center in Murcia.

The student of the 2nd year of Bachillerato Pablo López Cánovas, from the IES Valle de Leiva in Alhama de Murcia, obtained one of the diplomas as an Extraordinary High School Award, with an average grade of 9.97.

Pablo has managed to have an average in high school much higher than the 8.75 that marks this distinction and is one of the twenty best grades of a test composed of three exams.

A distinction that made him worthy of one of the awards in the last edition of the Cope Espuña Awards 2017 and the recognition of the Local Government Board in November last year, at the proposal of the Councilor for Education.

The award ceremony, chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, María Robles, was attended by the mayor, Diego Conesa, the Councilor for Education, Mariola Guevara, and the director of the IES Valley Leiva, Roberto García.

A total of 22 diplomas were delivered.

Of them, nine in the ESO Extraordinary Awards category to students from the IES Francisco Ros Giner and Ramón Arcas Meca from Lorca, Ben Arabí from Cartagena, La Flota, El Carmen and Infante Don Juan Manuel from Murcia, and from CC La Merced -Fuensanta (Marists) of Murcia;

and 13 in the category of Extraordinary Baccalaureate Awards to students of the CC San Pedro Apóstol of San Pedro del Pinatar and San Buenaventura (Capuchins) of Murcia, of the IES Infante Don Juan Manuel, the Fleet, Miguel Espinosa, Francisco Cascales and Carmen de Murcia, Diego Tortosa de Cieza, Los Cantos de Bullas, Valle de Leiva de Alhama de Murcia, J. Martínez Ruiz Azorín de Yecla and Gil de Junterón de Beniel.

Also, at 13 Bachillerato were given a nominative heel worth 700 euros and Secondary a copy of an illustrated edition of 'The Little Prince'.

Obtaining these awards allows students to attend the calls for national awards for academic performance in ESO and Baccalaureate, organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

Mariola Guevara stressed that "the award of this award to Pablo is recognition of his academic career and his effort, work and dedication.

It is necessary to emphasize not only the excellence of the awarded student, but also the stupendous work done by the teachers of the IES Valle de Leiva ".

The event was attended by about 200 people, including award-winning students, relatives and directors of educational centers, and was enlivened by students of the Conservatory of Music and Conservatory of Dance of Murcia.
