The campaign "ALCOHOL: CONSCIOUSNESS WITH SCIENCE" is an educational program on the problems related to the consumption of alcoholic beverages and other drugs, directed to adolescent population, framed in a community intervention program in which the Health Center of Alhama de Murcia, the secondary school of Valle de Leiva, the Local Plan for Drug Addiction Prevention of the City of Alhama de Murcia and the councils of Health and Education.
The ARGOS Program revolves around the visit of groups of students from the 1st ESO of the IES Valle de Leivade Alhama de Murcia to an exhibition of posters in the Health Center, accompanied by the teacher and / or tutor and one or more professionals Health.
Three activities are carried out with the students: the guided visit to the exhibition in the Health Center of the IES, together with two sessions in the educational center, one before and after the visit, through which the units are dynamically developed Didactics.
ARGOS is an innovative and continuity program (started in 2010) to prevent the consumption of alcohol and other drugs, designed to involve health professionals in the Primary Care Teams (EAP) in prevention, prioritizing prevention of alcohol consumption In the populations of adolescents and pregnant and lactating women of the health centers of the Region.
The first health professionals who come into contact with populations at risk of alcohol consumption are those of the Primary Care Teams (EAP).
Awareness of the relevant role they can play in early intervention is crucial.
It is important the intervention in the target populations due to the high prevalence of alcohol consumption in the Region of Murcia.
