The Mayor, Diego Conesa, and the Councilor for Education, Mariola Guevara, held a meeting Tuesday in the Education Council with the Director of Educational Planning and Human Resources, Enrique Ujaldón with the objective of analyzing the situation in Alhama once the Enrollment process for the 2017-2018 academic year.
At the meeting they have been moved by the concern that exists with the forecast of the Autonomous Community to reduce a classroom in one of the double public schools of the municipality, depending on the number of applications.
They have also shown the commitment of the City Council since the beginning of the legislature in education through the detail of investments, especially on equal terms for schools with more needs for support by the social situation on the part of students.
From the municipal government they have asked Mr. Ujaldón to evaluate these efforts and to lower the ratio, which is the main problem with which these centers can be found, and not to close any classroom in any public school.
They have also taken advantage of the visit to the Ministry to deliver in the general direction of Educational Centers a copy of the documentation that the City Council is processing for the impending assignment, by plenary agreement, of the plot for the new institute Valle de Leiva, as well as the proposals Of modification of the draft of agreement for the shared use of the sports spaces in the future institute.
The agreement presents a substantial improvement on the part of the City, passing from a small sports pavilion to a multipurpose sports center available to the center during school hours, but that can be used by all residents of Alhama for the rest of the time, as well as the tracks Sports facilities.
