A new DANA puts Alhama on yellow alert (21/10/2019)

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a warning of very strong and persistent rainfall until Thursday, October 24 caused by a new DANA (Isolated Depression in High Levels) located in the southwest of the peninsula.

Starting at dawn on Tuesday, the AEMET expects locally heavy rains and occasionally accompanied by storms in different parts of the Region, giving a yellow level warning in the municipality and with a percentage of probability between 40 and 70 per percent, up to 20 liters per square meter accumulated in one hour.

In addition, minimum temperatures are expected with slight changes and maximum decreases.

Faced with this situation, this morning the mayor, Mariola Guevara, held a first meeting with the head of the municipal brigades, Pedro Provencio, councilors Antonio García, Felipe García and Antonio José Caja, and through the telephone line with the Chief Officer of Local Police, José Alfonso Toral, to coordinate acting tasks.

To this end, and as is often the case in these cases, cleaning services have paid special attention to the cleaning of gratings and scuppers, as well as the clearing of waterways and water passage areas.
