eLPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN is the first meat company to obtain the Interporc Animal Welfare Spain certification under the IAWS-Certified Welfare Commitment seal.
Likewise, all livestock suppliers of the company will also be governed by the criteria established by this certification, created by the White Pork Interprofessional (Interporc).
eLPOZO and its farmers adhere to this protocol with registration number 001 and reinforce with this seal, the most demanding of the European Union in this area, the strict compliance with the food safety and animal welfare standards that they are developing and complementing the existing quality and safety protocols.
Consumers will be able to know with a common image which meats and meat products have been obtained with the highest demands for animal welfare in the entire production chain.
The company assumes compliance with the Technical Regulation of Animal Welfare and Biosafety Interporc Animal Welfare Spain (IAWS) through this badge, which groups all interprofessionals of meat (Interporc, Asici, Provacuno, Interovic, Intercun and Propollo).
The Regulation, which is among the most demanding in the world, has been developed in collaboration with companies in the sector, certifiers, scientists and animal welfare experts.
It is endorsed by a high-level scientific committee, and has been tested by animal protection and defense organizations.
This initiative is a pioneer worldwide and reflects the commitment of the Spanish livestock sector to animal welfare, a matter in which it is a benchmark at the international level by having the most advanced regulations in the world.
