The City Council is committed to energy efficiency with the replacement of all its luminaires (20/12/2018)

The Town Hall is renovating its old lights by others with LED system (light-emitting diode).

Specifically, conventional fluorescent tubes are replaced by new energy-efficient screens, an objective included in the 2016 Municipal Energy Audit.

The City Council has invested 15,522.62 euros in these works to install a total of 142 luminaires, from a power of 21,500 W to 8,900 W, which represents a reduction of 58%.

With this measure, annual consumption will also be reduced, going from 32,600 Kwh / year to 13,400 Kwh / year, with an energy saving of 59%.

Regarding the economic expense, a reduction in the invoice of 57% is foreseen, from € 5,900 per year (current) to € 2,500.

Other advantages that this measure entails is the improvement of the quality of light, being of neutral tone of 4.000ºK (degrees Kelvin) compared to 5,000ºK previous, colder.

In addition, there will be a more uniform level of illumination and an absence of the stroboscopic effect produced by the fluorescent tubes.

The useful life of the new luminaires is much higher, which means a lower maintenance cost, and the power contracted with the company will also be reduced.

Saving emissions to the atmosphere will be very significant, since the installed LED system will avoid producing 9 tons of CO2 per year.
