Chef María José Martínez teaches cooking at the campus 'Más que cesta 2018' (27/06/2018)

This week has begun the second edition of the 'Mas que basket' campus, organized by the Alhama Basketball Club and taking place in the Sierra Espuña pavilion.

Today the participating children have counted on the presence of María José Martínez, Premio Violeta 2016 and Alhameña restorer who participated in the prestigious cooking prize 'Revelation Chef 2016' at Madrid Fusión, being in third place, in addition to running the restaurant 'El Lienzo ' in Valencia.

It has also been accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, Antonio José Caja and the mayor, Mariola Guevara.

The assistants to the campus have been cooking with varied and healthy ingredients, with which they have been able to discover new flavors with the help of the chef.

Martinez has also shown some of his most playful dishes through culinary techniques such as the deconstruction of products to surprise the youngest.

This edition consists of a program that covers four weeks of summer and is structured in 20 sessions, composed by the practice of sports and the didactic offer, which ranges from psychology workshops, where children's emotions will be worked on. different situations of stress and nerves.

In addition, it will have the visit of professionals from the Technological Center of the Industrial Park of Alhama, with whom they will experience different facets, such as that of scientist.

Theater and percussion will be present so that they can continue to improve their body expression and enhance social skills.

The Red Cross will also participate by teaching them the PAS behavior: protect, isolate and help, so that -in the event of an accident- the children know how to act.

The campus has an animal protection workshop, where participants will work on the concepts of awareness, respect and solidarity.

It is competent and is divided into three parts: first they will receive the visit of the people in charge of the 'Peludines', then the children will work different crafts that later they will be able in different places of the market, where all the collected will go destined to the animal protector.

Finally, an excursion to the Mar Menor is scheduled to practice activities such as kayaking, sailing and surfing.
